Last year, Jaleel announced he’d be dropping an album before the year ends, titled “Ever Sins Eve”, new on the scene but making all the right moves. He first gave us nostalgic “Block Block” and then went on to bless us with the catchy “Wella”. It’s no doubt the 20 year old took home “Best New Comer” at the recent Namibian Music Awards.
We asked him what that was like, here’s what he had to say;
Did you expect that at all?
I really didn’t have expectations at all or expected that specific award at all, it came as a surprise to me.
Tell us, what was the first thing that went through your mind when your name was called?
The only thing that was going through my mind was that this couldn’t be real, and only after seeing my name and album name engraved on the Award the feeling started becoming more and more real.
Did you have a speech ready just in case you got called up?
Who was the first person that congratulated you on your win?
Where do you plan on keeping your award?
And the award money?
I’m definitely giving back to God first and then the rest of the money is going right back into the dream.
So, where to from here?
Lastly, our female readers want to know if there’s a lucky lady in Jaleel’s life?
Yes. No further comment. 😉
My name is Jaleel and I am Namibia to the world.
